John Hudgwell born 1612 in Sawbridgeworth Hertfordshire and son of Richard Hudswell and Mary Young took on the journey to Barbados in the West Indies between 1640 and 1649.
With his wife Jeane they had 7 children and became quite prosperous as planters (sugar cane) and land owners in the parish of St. Philip in the east of the island |
