  Henry Hudgell born 29 October 1827 was one of 12 children of John and Sarah Hudgell from Suffolk.

   John moved to Hampstead  North London to start his building business around 1804 and on his death in 1835 this son  Henry carried on the family business with the help of his brothers who were tradesmen in plumbing and painting.

  Henry married twice, in 1855 he married Ann Bailey but within 5 years he had lost his wife and one of his two children. Two years later he met and married Hannah Wagstaffe from Nottingham and together they had 10 more children.

  In the late 1800's Henry attained the title 'Master Builder' the premises below were in Brent Street, Hendon, London
